How to Tie an Albright Special Bend

The Albright Special is another great bend in which to attach two ropes with. The reason we use bends instead of knots, is a different term, because it means a different type of knot. It's a knot that we can easily pull out of two ropes, when we tie them together. And this one is, try to test to make sure that this one comes out really easy. So, if you look down here at the table, we've got my initial line. I'm just going to go ahead and put a bite in it like so. And, just work it down here. And we'll take my other line, and we'll pull it up and we'll put a lot of length in this one. Here, I'm just going to put it right over the top of my loop, holding these two pieces together. Basically, I'm just going to take it, and just loop it down. I'm going to try to make this loop that I'm starting here really tight. We're going to tighten all the way down and make sure, it takes a lot of working with, because you want to make sure it won't unravel on you. Pull it all the way down. What I'm going to do is I'm going to take this piece, just pull like that a bit. I'm going to take my working end and finish off this knot. I'm just going to put it through the bite that I'm creating on my blue line, and a little bit, you've got to work with it, because it does want to come unraveled sometimes. There you go. And you can put as many loops as you want to in it, barrel it all the way up if you must. But there you go. It's nice and it's tight. And this line will come out really easy, but this is really nice, tight bend.
