Choosing the Proper Shoes for Flamenco Dancing
Hi! Thank you for visiting expertvillage.com, my name is Yvette Parrish. We’re going to be talking a little bit about basic flamenco footwork and how to put them in some combinations. The first basic footwork with flamenco you can get lots of different kinds of shoes. This is a little bit of a higher heel, whatever you feel comfortable with this is called the t-strap, a flamenco shoe and it has nails on the back of it. If you can see, it’s nails on the toe and nails on the heel and they both have certain sounds. So the first thing you need to do is get a good pair of flamenco shoes with nails on them. They do sell them however without nails and that’s good to have a soft pair of shoes in case you’re performing on concrete and you don’t want to slip but a true flamenco shoe has nails on it.
