Hi! Thank you for visiting expertvillage.com. My name is Yvette Parish. It does work really pretty when you have a group, but you can do them by yourself as well. Remember that's how you practice with a right hand. Always start with the pinky first. 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 2, 3,4, 5. So this is always your heard beat. You're not getting real fancy with the left. The right one is where you do all the work. Once you get the hang of and once you get the castanets that fit your hand, which is very important, learn how tight you like them. Like I said, I like to go a little bit tighter and loosen them up as I'm playing. If you start too loose, those will be just falling off your fingers. So practice a little bit with them. How to put them, how you like the feel, if the size is the right size for the palm of your hand. Think about the sounds. The deeper sound is always going to be the right hand. And that's the castanets.
