How to Mount Skateboard Trucks

We're talking about skateboarding parts and maintenance and we're going to talk about attaching the trucks to the deck. Each truck is attached to the deck using 4 usually using Phillip bolts with 4 corresponding nuts. You need to hold the top of the screwdriver, place it firmly in the screw and hold it in place. Then you want to take a wrench such as this, put it on the correct adjustment, hold the screwdriver tight while tightening down on the nut. The most important rule for mounting trucks to the deck is making sure you mount the bolts evenly. Make sure you mount all bolts loosely to get the truck onto the deck then go back and tightening them in this manner. Tightening one bolt in the corner then move down into the opposite corner, tightening the next bolt. Then move up from that bolt tightening this one then tightening the remaining bolts. Tightening two bolts in the same side to begin with can cause pressure cracks and can cause your trucks to be uneven and cause you imbalance. Remember tightening them up to where the nuts are nice and firm on the skateboard but not so much that it's causing stress on the deck. Also after mounting the trucks check for pressure cracks they'll be small cracks in the decks running from the direction of the bolts. If you see no pressure, cracks and the trucks don't flip around on the deck you'll know that you mounted your hardware correctly and you're ready to skate.
