How to Advertise for Balloon Folding

Hi, Jeremy Telford here on behalf of Expert Village. I am going to talk to you a little bit about how to make money while twisting balloons. Now the easiest way to break into it once you've put a few balloon designs under your belt is to actually go to a local restaurant. Usually try and find one that has a lot of kids and a fun atmosphere and go and talk to the management. A lot of times you can offer to go there the first night for free and do balloons and then if they like you, you can talk after that. And some places will hire you straight up as a balloon twister and let you take tips others won't pay you anything but they will let you go and take tips. The average tip it depends on where you are. If you are on the west coast or east coast, lucky you, you make a lot more. If you are somewhere in the middle you'll make less. I average anywhere from $1.50 to $2.00 per balloon creation when I go into a restaurant and just do it for tips. Of course you will have the odd person that won't give you anything and the other odd person that will give you $20.00 for three balloons. In all I usually average about $25.00 an hour just doing it in a restaurant setting. Now that's not where you are going to make your real money. If you are going to make real money you are going to have to do it with doing birthday parties and business parties and festivals. And the restaurant work will actually work well for marketing. Make sure you have plenty of business cards on hand. And if you do your work well when they realize you do more than a dog and a sword a lot of times people will ask you for business cards and that will get you birthday parties and that will get you business parties. Also a yellow pages ad doesn't hurt. Give yourself a web present so people can look at your designs online as well.
