How to Arrange Art Supplies

MATT CAIL: Hello. I'm Matt Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you today how to organize and set up and tame your own art studio. So, you're ready to start setting up your art studio. The first step, now that you've kinda gotten through the preliminaries, are supplies. Now, basically, what I've done here is I've arranged out several different types of paints--face paints, oil paints and acrylic paints. I'm using these to illustrate a point. It is something you should always keep in mind to keep your art supplies organized. This is only if you're just doing pencil drawings in your art studio or if you have like three, four, or five, eight different types of paint you're going to be using to create your arts and crafts. So, make sure not to mix and match. The last thing you want to do is go into a nice art cabinet, which I highly recommend, and just like discover a big huge mixed, masked, mash of--mess of paint stuff. There are arts and craft supplies all mixed together. That's just going to lead to--you having to spend fifteen to twenty minutes segregating things out, organizing a bit, and then being able to start with your arts and crafts. It interrupts your thought rhythms, it's not fun to do, and you'll start up making your art much more angry than you need to be and frustrated. So, please keep in mind, whenever you--for your studio space, controlled cast is okay but just make sure that cast does not result in a big maelstrom of craziness with your art supplies. You want to be able to get to different types of art supplies and have them very clearly demarcated.
