Sports Massage Techniques for Swimming Injuries

ALEXSON ROY: So we're back on the big swim, little swim, which is the latissimus dorsi, the muscle from your lower back up to your scapula, and then you have your teres minor, which is also connected to your scapula, okay? So before what we did is we kinda like pushed out, we pushed out, we pushed out. So what we're going to do now, we're going to kinda like, same thing, push down, grab it, and then you're going to kinda like go the opposite way, okay? Little circular motions, push down and then go out, okay? Because what you're also doing is you're pressing out, but then now what you're doing is you're stretching it, stretching the muscles, okay? So push down and then out, circular motion. What you're doing is what they call "milking the muscle" when you twist. When you do any type of circular motions, you're milking it. And when you apply the pressure, you're really wringing the muscle. So out, down and out, down and then out. Stretch it out, stretch. There you go, down then out, okay? So next, what we're going to do is we're going to focus on track-related issues.
