On behalf of Expert Village, my name is George Engle with Mr. Fix-It Handyman in Miami, Florida and today I am going to be showing you how to set up and use and perform different cuts with a portable table saw. One of the reasons about the shroud that I feel very strongly is important to leave it on is because of these teeth on the side. These two blades, what they do is they prevent wood from being thrown back in this direction because the saw turns cutting towards when you are pushing wood. This will prevent the wood from going back towards you and avoid you getting injured so it is part of the shroud. Again, it keeps the dust out of your face. You've got a clear view of your cut through here or through here without having to worry about getting dust in your eyes.
