Removing the Turbine from a Hayward Aquabug

Alright now our friend the Aquabug is well in lots and lots of little pieces. But there is still more to go. This over here is the mechanism that is actually drives the cleaner called the medium turbine and assembly. So were going to do now is free that up. By simply taking it off here. There is two screws. And again just real simple. One and two. And here again were going to invert it. And just gently wiggle, ok as you see it's just going to want to slide right out and there we go. Now from there we can see the medium turbine how we want to take a look at this. It to make sure that when we spin it. Look at that. It's beautiful spinning nice and easy not grinding moves nice. Were going to take this out. Because as we reassemble it were assuming that were going to put nice fresh parts in to it. And then the last piece over here is what we call the medium turbine gear. A and as you can see there is a really tiny little screw inside of here. Now if you have just the right bit. Well you can just set it home and just gently now I am holding the gear in the back. If I do it to fast it well strip my fingers. Ah yes very good. A little tiny screw. And again holding everything upside down so we don't loose anything. You should get her to wiggle right out of there. Another little zip zap right there. She wants to be stubborn. There we go. I am feeling good about this one. There it is. See that little baby, there's the trouble maker. And then coming right in there. Now sometimes I like to use a tiny little screwdriver to sort of congeal it out of there. Especially this one being new the fit and finish is excellent. It's got a little tiny gear with a hex nut on the top. Were going to take the medium gear and place it aside and the little bearing. Now the we have basically got everything taken off. Now the last thing is that this is the bushing that it glides on. That's the cone at the top. Without that you could get grinding. At this point our Aquabug she's now in pieces.
