Maintaining a Hayward Aquabug

Well the Aquabug is designed for years of maintenance free use. There are a couple of things that you want to keep your eye out on. Now that is going to be important just to keep her operating on her best and I am going to show you a few of what are called the wear parts. Now these parts actually come in contact with the bottom of the pool. Now the good news is of course is that the pool is a vinyl liner so your not going to get a lot of friction. But just picture going in your bear feet or even in sneakers and rubbing them on the bottom of the vinyl liner for oh let's say eight hours a day seven days a week. For two or three years your going to get some wear. And here are the things to keep an eye out for. The shoes yes the come in direct contact with the bottom of the pool and it's going to be important for them to be raised up so any of the sharper pieces are not coming in contact with that vinyl liner. You don't want anything doing that. Then also you have got the flaps right here these must be kept in good repair because if not well then your going to break your suction line and then you will only start to suck directly underneath the hole. The other are the wings again to create that full suction pattern you want to make sure are in good repair. Now If you will look very closely your going to find that there is a wear mark right there. So when your in the pool just make sure that there is some good resilience and that the shoes are in good shape. That the flaps have hit past there wear mark and that the wings rather haven't hit past their wear mark. And the flaps are complete to create your suction grid.
