How to Massage a Dog's Tail

Hi, I'm Mary with expertvillage.com and today we're talking about the tail. Now Keeta doesn't have very much of a tail as you can see and that's okay because you can still work with the tail even though you've only got a stub. What you're going to do with this little puppy is the tail is an extension of the spine so when you're working the spine with a regular animal, you're going to go down to the base and you're going to grab onto the tail and even with dogs that don't have all of a tail, you're going to go out and you're going to do it as if they had a full length tail. The reason for this is because just like an amputated limb on a human being, animals think that they are whole and entire. They miss a limb or they miss a tail, they just don't think they have one so the energy body is still there. It's very important too, when you take the tail, you're going to be moving it up and around and back and just what a normal dog does with their tail. It doesn't matter if it's short or if it's long.
