Your last step when using your mixer should always be to clean it down. All you need to clean your mixer is just a damp sponge to wipe it down. You pay attention to the under carriage of it where it gets splattered. Just wipe that down and also this part where you're going to get little pieces stuck in there from your beaters. Just mainly maintaining. It a nice clean mixer will help it last much longer you also want to make sure that you are getting anything that is dripped down from the bowl. If you're pouring out of the bowl, then you might have some drips coming down so all of the accessories for your mixer as long as it says so in your manual which you should always check. You usually find to go in the dishwasher you can also of course hand wash them and you might want to wipe some of this batter off before it has a chance to drip onto your counter top. When you're finished with your mixer, you want to make sure to store it where it's going to stay clean so don't put it next to your stove or it's going to be greasy splatters on it. Your best bet is to have it away in the cabinet or off to the side where it's not going to get splashed from your sink which could cause rusting if it's getting water in it. Or have it near your stove or it's going to get grease splatters. If you take care of your mixer, keep it clean and use it well and it will last for years.
