How to Do One Handed Wheelchair Wheelies

KEVIN BARRETT: Okay, now we're moving on to one-handed, okay? Now, one-handed is pretty hard, and the only reason I learned how to do one-handed is because when were at work and I wanted to eat lunch, I needed one hand actually to I eat my burger and drink my soda so that's why I learned how to do a one-handed thing. A lot of people don't know how to do this because it gets really rocky and you only got one hand and you think you've been spinning circles, but with a little bit of practice, you can actually do this too. Now, watch closely. Pretty good, huh? But let me show you how to do it when on two wheels now, all right? Here we go. We're up on two wheels now. Now, in order to do one-handed, it's very much the same as before, you got to make sure that one hand is on the wheel at all times; otherwise, you have no way of rocking, okay. You need one constant point rocking at all times, okay? So, what I'm going to do is simply hold on with my left hand because that's easiest hand for me to deal with, okay? Then you let go and just make sure that you keep your center of gravity right over the top, find that sweet spot, and you'll be okay. Now, this is very hard to do. I know I'm making it look easy and it seems like it's no problem, but once you get up on these things, it's really hard to find that sweet spot. Once you do, you're going to be able to do all sorts of different tricks like this. Now, one way of practicing here is take one hand off for just a few seconds in time, switch off to the other hand. See what way is easiest for you then move up. See how long you can do it just like you did before when you're rocking; now just see how long you can hold one hand off, all right? This is going to be a challenge. Then after that, you can start doing fun things like eating and drinking sodas and lunch and everything. So, that's how you do it one hand, join me for the next clip.
