How to Do a Left Foot Outside 3 Turn on Ice Skates

Hi I?m Simone Fisher and I'm here at Clearwater Ice Arena in sunny Clearwater Florida, on behalf of Expert Village, o k where going to start out with the left foot outside 3-turn and the way you would like to begin this is to just learn the arm positions by doing the turn on two feet. You want to skate in a circle on a half circle, that?s why I'm using the red line to help give you a visual idea of where to go. You?re going to start out by just pushing off gliding on two feet twisting to the left and untwisting to the right. That teaches you the actual motion of the shoulders against the hips to get started. The next step you want to do once you got that under control your going to push off and go on to one foot, repeat the twisting, and untwisting, checking the edge coming out of the turn by holding your shoulder back against your hip and keeping your free leg in very closely. That would be the left foot outside 3-turn. Where going to repeat the same thing in the other direction. Starting again out on two feet, twisting into the circle and then releasing and coming out of the turn. Holding the checked position, after the turn then you want to repeat it once you have control over that on one foot. Twist into the turn make sure you curve, and check coming out. Holding the free foot close to the heel of the skating foot.
