Welcome to Expert Village. This is Fran Dukehart. In this segment we are going look at the extended cat tilt and dog tilt on the ball. First we are going to establish our neutral and our centered position. We are going to feel the energy right from the waist area. We are going to intend that we feel energy moving upward to the top of the head, and also we feel grounded in our spine and also in our legs. The next idea would be that we will scoop all the energy upward, and move into an extended cat and do the opposite. Come all the way forward into an extended dog, again we are looking at elongating the spine, articulating it one vertebra at a time. Always listen to your body, to your breath, and to your spine. Go at the pace that is right for you. Feel tall from the core lifting upwards, engaging the ground with your feet, bringing the hands behind the back of the head, lengthen the neck, and as you exhale, you are slowly going to walk forward finding your stability, scoop the abdominals in and up, hold for one breath, feel your lungs completely filling the side ribs, you watch them expand, exhale reaching, legs long, arms long, forward bend. Inhale, lengthen the arms, lengthen the breath, you are in your neutral position, and gently release, cat tilt, engaging the core muscles, lengthening and supporting the back of the neck. Enjoying what you are doing at the moment, that you are doing it, inhaling, coming to center, opening to the beauty that is in us. As I just did this exercise I could see up to the top of this 50 foot tree, and it is a sense of space of openness. It is wonderful to practice your yoga outside. From my center to your center… Namaste.
