How to Use the Right Tools in Customer Service

In this section we'll be discussing another model known as the ABCs of customer service. I'm Pamela Unruh on behalf of Expert Village. Now another important factor in business knowledge is having the correct tools and to be able to assist your customer. Make sure when you begin your day, that you have everything you need. When I begin my day at a service oriented industry, the first thing I do is to pull up my database in customers. I know that I'm going to need that. I'm also sure that I have quick and easy access to customer files. I also make sure that all of the online programs that I need to run are functioning that day. It's very important that you make sure that your prepared in the manner if you don't have all the correct tools then you need to make sure to get those in order before you can proceed. Can you imagine a mechanic trying to work on your car without proper wrench or what if you had a baseball bat instead. You probably won't feel very confident with that mechanic and your customer is going to know if you're trying to improvise with tools that don't help. So whatever the tool is in your trade whether it be the wrench or the computer or pen make sure that you have everything you need in order to assist that customer that day.
