Gains in a 5-3 Football Defense

Hi, I'm Billy Kidd, I'm here at Expert Village and we're going to talk about the five-three defense. When you're using this defensive front, great thing about it is, it can allow you if you have the personnel, if you have the personnel within your defensive linemen, defensive linemen remember they are stronger, bigger person, linebackers are not quiet as big but should be a little faster. If you have the right personnel in place, then you can also get a little tricky with your fronts. You've got personnel here side by side, you can run games if you have that ability to keep your offense from always knowing where you're going to be. You can run your tackle through the C gap, you can take your defensive end and work him all the way hard into the B gap, then it allows you to have your outside linebacker here for contain, that throws that offensive group up off there on who their going to block.
