How to Fill Gaps in a 5-3 Football Defense

Hi, I'm Billy Kidd, I'm here at Expert Village and we're going to talk about the five-three defense. Now, you've taken everything possible here and then put a body in it to control the line of scrimmage so that the offense can't get any movement. Now, so what you've done is taken one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight people and put them in gaps here and you've got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven offensive people to block them. So, obviously you've out numbered them but that's why they have these backs back here because their going to step up and their going to make blocks, sometimes their going to run an is-o and their going to double lead it and make this guy the ball carrier.
