Apply the Flux to Your Stained Glass

So the first step in you soldering is to apply he flux to the copper foil which will enable the solder to stick to the copper foil otherwise it will just fly right off. So flux is very poisonous so the important thing about using flux is that you do not rub your eyes with it cause it gets on your hands it's very, very oily and you need to wash your hands really thoroughly with a brush and soap after you've used it. Just make sure you don't put it on your face though cause your eyes will itch it's very, very poisonous. so we'll take our little brush and we're first just going to apply a little solider to the joints or the places where the copper foils meet from two pieces of glass. So now we're going to just put a little bit of flux on the places where the joints meet where the pieces of glass meet and on that little dab of flux so the copper foil will hold the solder. That's good. On the smaller pieces you can do the whole thing but on a larger piece you might want to do a little section at a time. Okay now I think oh always have to keep these going back to its position. Good, I think all the little joints are fluxed now. So we will move on the next step which is to drop beads of solider onto it.
