Watercolor Portrait Detail Painting Techniques

JOHN R. JUNGER: Okay. Bottom lip, it's going to be darker underneath. Now, the chin is going to be darker yet. Now, as you can see the portrait is almost there, isn't it? So, there's something else that I have a problem with. It's called drying time. In other words, it's hard for me to work unless this is dried but it's going to fade but you'll be able to see the process. So, here goes. Here is the eye, eyebrow. Here is the nose and nostrils. Here is the end of the lips. Here is the chin. As you see, the portrait is starting to emerge. And I like this found and lost idea. So, I'm going to amplify it. What I'm going to do is find this edge even more, and I'm going to lose that one even more by taking a damp brush and going over it.
