How to Add Graphics and Titles to Video

Oh boy, we've been doing a lot of work. Now that you've organized your clips and you've got your story all laid out, it's time to investigate graphics and titles. I'm not going to go into depth a lot because that' a whole other area. I'm going to give you some pointers like I've been doing this whole series about graphics and titles. Keep them simple. Also remember, they're only there for one reason, to augment your video. If your graphics and titles are competing with your video, you might want to reconsider what you're doing. Titles are very important and there's one thing I want to give you that's a nice little tip. When you use white fonts on a black background it makes the text look ten percent larger than actually is. This is why a lot of movie promos use white text on a black background. It just gives that illusion that it's larger. Also, another thing you want to try to stay away from are colored fonts, such as red, green, and blue. They have a tendency, on certain tvs, to tear or bleed. Try to avoid those. Keep your fonts large and crisp. Try not to put too many words on one line and have fun with it. It's really quite simple. In this program that you were using here, you can just go ahead and play with different font animations and see what works best for you. Be careful. This is one of the things you want to set up after your story is put together in a video format wise. In other words, some people jump to the titles and they spend so much time on the titles that they actually don't get to the video that needs to be edited. Edit your video first, add the titles second, goes a long way.
