How to Make Smoothies for Babies

Hi, this is Shanis Windland on behalf of Expert Village, and in our video series on how to make your own baby food. We're here today to talk about how to make your baby a smoothie. Smoothies are wonderful for the whole family to enjoy, and baby will especially love the yummy, fruity taste of smoothies. So what I like to do is, I bought some generic plain yogurt, and make sure you buy the yogurt that doesn't have any sugar added to it, it's better for your baby. In order to save time, I also buy already frozen fruit at the grocery store. It's just fruit, no sugar added, and already frozen, and that makes it really yummy for your baby, especially for a teething baby. I have a whole different bunch of variety of fruit. Some I bought some blueberries and raspberries and froze myself. This is some cherries, and this is some, a mix of mango and strawberry for the baby. So it's really easy to make a smoothie. The first thing that I do is just open up the yogurt, and add some to my food processor. Now this recipe makes quite a bit of smoothie, so you can have some with your baby when they're eating it. And then add in some cherries, and some blueberries and raspberries. And if you want to as well, you can add in a little bit of unsweetened juice to it. Just make sure you don't buy the kind with a lot of added sugar.
