How to Make Baby Cereal

Hi, this is Shanis Windland on behalf of Expert Village. In our video series on making your own baby food we're going to talk about how to make baby cereal and specifically how to make baby oatmeal cereal. I think this personally I think this is the easiest one to make so that is why I'm showing it to you. Because it's really fast and really easy to make. You can use a food processor or blender for this but I find that actually using a cofffe grinder is the easist way to do it. All you have to do is get some oats (plain oatmeal) and the slow cook time is better for you than the instant kind of oatmeal. So I usually by this kind and just add them to the coffee grinder. Just simply grind them up to a really thin powder. As you can see it comes out a really thin powder and that's essentially what you are buying when you buy baby oatmeal cereal at the store. Then I just add it to a bowl now you can take this plain powder and store it to cook it later and I'll show you how to cook it in a second. So we're going to learn how to cook the oatmeal that we just made the only thing really need to know about it. The amount that you make all you need is one part oatmeal to three parts of water so I'm going to use a 1/4 of a cup. I'm going to get a 1/4 of a cup of my oatmeal powder and add it to my pan and then I'm also going to add 3/4 of a cup of water. BROKEN CLIP SOUND CUTS OFF
