Adding & Playing A Minor Bass Scales in G Major

Now we're going to explain Aminor which comes out of G so we take a look at our interval chart again. Remember these are all of our open strings here, so there is our open frets and there is our first fret, second fret, third fret, fourth fret. Here's our 1 so if we make 2 the new root. Now we have 2 as our root, we have and A minor scale. We are going from 2 to 2 now instead of from 1 to 1. Our new scale would be 1, 2,3,4,5,6,7,1. The easiest way to think about this is just to keep that same pattern and just on the 2. So i'm going to do some whacking on the 2. I start right here open string. Same scale pattern. We are just making 2 the root. By making 2 the root out of the major scale you get your A minor scale, which is dragged out of G major. That's your minor root on the bass in G (A minor).
