RYAN LARSON: So now we've learned to have 2 as a root. So we're going to go in and look at our pattern again. So we have our open strings again and here are your fret markings. So that's the lowest string. Now, we're going to make 5 the root and that gives you your 7th chord. So now this is our new root and you will also notice you have a 5 right here. It's off the paper but it's on the 5th fret up in octave. And we'll show you that walking on the bass. But now, we're going to walk and just make sure that on the downbeat, we always land on the 5 and we'll be walking our seventh scale in first position which is our C7 scale on the bass. So we're going to zoom out and show that now. So right here on the 5, and there's your 5th fret there that's not notated. Again, adding a couple of extra notes from my bebop scale. And now, we have our 5 then we can do our 2 to our 5 to our 1. So we have 2-5-1-2-5-1-2-5-1-G minor-C7-F. And that's your 5th as a root, your C7 chord out of F major.
