Tuning a Bass (By Ear)
Hi, my name is Dalton and we’re gonna be tuning this bass today. The first string we’re going to be tuning is the E string. You’re going to need a pitch fork or a keyboard in order to get your instrument in E. Once you get your instrument in E the next string to tune is the A string. To do that, you have an A on your E string which is right here (5th fret.) So play it and play you’re a string, and those should sound exactly the same. And once you get you’re a string tuned, you have a D string that you need to tune, and your D on the A string is right here (5th fret.) So now you get these two to sound exactly the same. And the next string we want to tune is the G string. And on the D string there is a G which is right here (5th fret) and you need to get these two to sound exactly the same. Once you’ve done all that, you have a nice tuned bass.
