Ingredients Needed to Make Cheesecake Crust

Okay for our crust, this is the first thing you need to get mixed up, in our pan, and in the oven. We bake it for just a few minutes before we actually add the filling. Typically on a cheesecake, the very, very basic crust is a graham cracker crust. Where you crumble up, really mash up all the graham crackers together. I'm using vanilla wafers. I just really like vanilla wafers. I kind of grew up on them. They remind me of my childhood home. So I have some vanilla wafers, I'm gonna crush those up, about a cup of those, I'm gonna add a cup of those into my bowl. I'm also gonna add half a stick of melted butter which is a fourth of a cup of melted butter. So I want to get that on the stove to melt and then I am going to add a teaspoon of sugar in there. So I'll have our crushed vanilla wafers, our melted butter, our teaspoon of sugar. I'm using a little bit less sugar in this crust because our vanilla wafers are a little bit sweeter. If I were using graham crackers, which are sweet as well, they're not as sweet as vanilla wafers, I'll use probably about a tablespoon of sugar. But I'm not, I'm gonna use a teaspoon today because I am using vanilla wafers which tend to be a little bit sweeter. So I'm gonna get that stuff going. I'm gonna crush the vanilla wafers, I'm gonna melt the butter, then I'll show you what all that looks like and how that's supposed to come together in your bowl to put in the pan.
