Hi, I'm Lorin Parker, with Expert Village, and we're bread boarding a very simple oscillator right now. So now what I'm going to add to my bread board are the frequency determining components, this .1 micro farad capacitor. And this one goes from the blue side of your power buss over to pin 1. And we're always just going to leave the capacitor there. Now what we're going to do is control the frequency of the whole circuit with a knob. And so I have a potentiometer here and I've soldered on two wires to connect it up. And I am going to take this from pin 1, one side goes to pin 1, and it really doesn't matter which side it is on the potentiometer, it doesn't have a polarity, and the other one goes into pin 2. So you can see it's bridging pin 1 and pin 2, that's our feedback. And this amplifier input goes in pin 1, comes out pin 2, and we adjust this knob to determine how much feedback is coming back on the circuit and that changes our pitch.
