Electrical Requirements When Powering a Chop Saw

Hi! This is John from expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will be discussing the electrical requirements for chop saws. This particular saw is wired at the factory for a standard 120 volt connection. You want to connect it to a 120 volt, 15 amp time delay fuse or circuit breaker. The circuit must not be wired with less than a #12 wire and protected with a 15 amp time delay fuse. Make sure that you do not modify the plug; this plug here would be unsafe and unacceptable. If it is necessary to use an extension cord, make sure that you are using a three-prong, three-wire extension chord. Make sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good condition as well. Always replace the damaged extension cord or have it repaired by a qualified person if you are going to use it.
