Cleaning Your Chop Saw

Hi! This is John on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will be discussing proper cleaning techniques for your metal cutting chop saw. When cleaning your chop saw, you want to make sure and clean any dust and debris from the tabletop and vice screw. You can use a dry clean rag or what I like using is a foxtail. You can clean pretty much any area of the saw in this manner, just to make sure you get all that debris away, so that your next piece will sit squarely. You never want to use any type of solvent or other harsh chemicals for cleaning. They are harmful to the plastic and other insulated parts. Petroleum based products such as brake fluid, thinners, and ammonia detergents are also harmful to your saw. Lastly, you want to make sure you clean up any debris that may have fallen to the floor.
