Chop Saw Care & Maintenance

Hi! This is John on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will be discussing general maintenance tips for metal cutting chop saws. Before performing any type of maintenance on your saw, make sure you unplug the power cord from the power source. Before each use of your saw, you want to make sure that you inspect your safety guards, make sure they are in proper working condition and make sure they are not damaged in anyway. Inspect your switch as well to make sure that that is in proper working condition and you always want to take a look at the cord coming into your saw to make sure that there are no tears or breaks in your cord. You also want to check for loose screws, jamming, broken parts or any other condition that may affect the safe operation of the saw. If while you are running the saw there is any unusual operating noise or vibration, you want to turn the saw off immediately, correct the problem and then try it again.
