Making a Cut With a Chop Saw

Hi! This is John on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will be taking you through the procedures for cutting your work piece on a metal cutting chop saw. The first step is to set your angle plate to whatever angle that you want to cut at. Next you want to make sure you position your piece flat on your worktable, after that you want to use your vice, and clamp down the piece. Again, make sure it is secure by wiggling it. Next you want to pull the trigger switch. After the motor reaches full speed, lower the disc into the center of the work piece. You want to use a smooth, firm and gentle downward motion. This will make a clean cut through the work piece. Do not allow the saw to bump or jump when making contact with the work piece. It will damage both the work piece and the disc.
