Adjusting the Cut Depth for a Chop Saw

Hi! This is John on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I am going to talk about what to look for when buying a chop saw. When looking for a chop saw, the first thing that I will do is I will think about what size of material I will be cutting. On this 14 inch chop saw, it will accept a 2 9/16’s bar or a 5 inch pipe material. Whereas on the 7 inch chop saw, it will accept only up to a 1.5 inch cutting capacity. The next thing that I look for is the price of the saw versus the quality of the tool. Basically, here I have a Dewalt 14 inch chop saw, which goes for about $250. If I went with a 14 inch Northern Industrial chop saw, same size, just a different brand, I can get that for about a $100. Now, my personal preference would be the Dewalt chop saw due to the reputation of the company but again that it is just my personal preference.
