Important Safety Rules for Chop Saws

Hi! This is John on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will be discussing special safety considerations for metal cutting chop saws. You always want to know the condition of your saw; if any part is missing, bent, or does not operate properly. You want to make sure that you replace the component before you continue what you are doing. You want to determine the type of work you are going to be working on before you operate your saw and make sure that you properly protect your body including your eyes, hands, face and ears. When making cuts, you want to make sure that you are not cutting them freehand. It is very unsafe. You want to make sure that you position the piece on your saw, clamp it and place securely and then try to twist it and rock it and make sure that it is secured. You also want to only cut one piece at a time. If you cut multiple pieces, it creates a big hazard.
