Sight Words & Kindergarten Readiness

Hi! My name is Ann and I am here to discuss what makes a successful kindergarten student. There are things that you could do at home with the family to make sure that your son or daughter does not struggle in kindergarten and have a really great successful year and be one of the top students in the grade and within the classroom. What we are talking about right now are sight words, gosh! What are they. They are words that do not follow any phonetic rules. They are words that you learn by repetition. They are words that you see over and over again visually and with time and practice and repetition, your child will learn these words. So for example, I am going to show you small sample of some of the sight words that you could be working on at home with your child. Again fall semester is a good time to be working on this. These are words. Some of these, for example this, she, small, down, up. These are words you can go over and another great list of sight words is the and again these are things you can easily access I am sure on the Internet or your local public library. Again we are talking about sight words and one of the more classic list. Thank you so much.
