Hi, I'm Douglas Willott and on behalf of Expert Village, we're going to be talking about online jean shopping today. If you're shopping for yourself and time for shopping is not the factor for why you're going online, it is a good idea to go into a store and try on the jeans first. It's also a good way to see what sorts of jeans are out there. Have them right there in front of you to see how they look in person, as opposed to the internet. The best thing about doing this is sizing. You can make sure the jeans fit you where you want them to fit. It's easy to go online and see if the leg length and the waist length is going to work for you, but is it going to hug you in the right places? Is it going to feel loose in the right places? This is especially true for ladies jeans. Men's jeans have a tendency to just put it out there. A 34x32 means 34 around the waist and 32 down the leg. That's pretty straightforward. But women's jeans often come in sizes such as 6, 12, 3, etc; numbers that, realistically, are not the number of inches around a women's waist. For instance, a size 0 jean is not zero inches around because that means that jean would not exist. So it's a good idea, if you can, to get to the store, try them on, and make sure they fit right. You don't have to buy them right there. The salespeople may pressure you. Instead, you now know the brand and the style of jean that works for you for when you go home. You can even pay attention to the brand of jean that you try on, knowing that that brand of jean when they say boot cut, low rise, etc. you know exactly where it's going to be fitting on you when you try them on later.
