Proper Inspecting Weld Equipment

Hi! This is John from expertvillage.com. In this video clip I will be showing you how to inspect your welding equipment. The first thing that you want to do is to take a visual inspection of your welder and make sure everything seems to be alright and make sure it is not looking like it is damaged in any way. What you want to do next is you want to inspect the cord that goes from the wall into the welder and what you will do is just make sure there are no tears or frays in the cord. The next thing that you want to check is the cord for the ground clamp and the electrode holder and again you are checking for frays or wear marks or tears in the cord and lastly, you want to check the electrode holder and the ground clamp to make sure that all the connections are secure and they are in good working condition.
