How to Burnish Your Stained-Glass Art

Okay, now I've got the piece of foil tape around the entire edge. It is also overlapping, just a little bit, over the front and the back. Try and get it as even as you can. And now I am going to burnish it down. So the first thing I'll do is burnish the edge again with the back of a spoon. I am using the wooden end of a sponge brush here. And you just kind of rub it down. What you are doing so much as not sticking it down with the adhesive. The adhesive is just holding it temporarily. But you are really molding that foil so that it really fits up against the shape of that glass. So once you do the edge then lay it flat and then burnish down the little bits that are overlapping over the front of the piece of glass and the back of the piece of glass. And now I am going to do that on both sides and once that is all burnished down, like this, rub it down nice and hard, the foil is nice up and tight against it, this piece is ready. But now I have got to do all the pieces in my design before I can start soldering it together.
