Secondary Motion with Borrowed Chord: Advanced Music Theory
Hey! I am Mark Black and welcome to expertvillage.com and we are going to be talking about advanced theory in song writing. The last way we can do this with a chord, I am going to put that C chord in there which in this case is a flat 7, a 7 scale degree in the key of D is a C sharp, we lower to half step and make the C sharp to C, we make a major chord of it so here is that same sound, that is my C which is an altered chord or borrowed chord from the parallel minor, do not worry about that. It is an unusual sound, but it does not tell me where to go... okay.
