Caring for House Plants on Vacation

Hi! My name is Austin Shepard here with Expert Village. Here I will be talking to you about making arrangements for your plants while you are away. Let's say you go away on a long trip, you leave your plants behind, you come home and they are all dead. Has this happened to you? Water device which will automatically water your plants while you are away or you can call upon a good friend to maybe come by your house and just check on your plants maybe even just once a week. So before you leave, give all of your plants a good watering, get a friend of yours that you trust a key to your home and just give them instructions on how to water your plants. Not all plants have to be watered the same way. Remember that. You don't want to come home and see that your plants have been extra watered and they are all dead because of that. So choose somebody that you know who has a green thumb. One thing you can do to shorten the amount of time between waterings is get something like water absorbing crystals. You simply poke your finer into the soil of the plant, fill that little hole with these special crystals and then water them because crystals will almost span to all of those 4 times their original size with water and over time, gradually release that water into the pan. So if you have to water a plant once every week, with these crystals you can water the plant once every two weeks.
