Supplies for Cleaning a Microwave

Hi! I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to clean your microwave from the inside out. Our next step is going to be going over the supplies that you will need to clean your microwave oven. First thing that you'll need are some gloves. You're going to want gloves even if you're not worried about the state of your hands. Just because it will help protect them from the heat of water. The hotter the water, the more easily it's going to clean. In some cases, all you'll need is really hot water in order to clean your microwave oven and nothing else. Next, you'll need a sponge. This will be quite imperative for cleaning your oven. If your sponge is dirty, you can also clean it by sticking it in the microwave as long as it's wet for about 2 minutes, so then you don't have to have a gross used sponge. You can have a nice clean one every time that you clean. I also recommend getting some micro fiber cloths. These are fantastic in that you can use them over and over again. Unlike paper towels, which you'll toss after one use. This is a more environmentally friendly way of cleaning. You can get them relatively cheaply at most grocery stores. They're very easy to find. Next, I have an all-purpose cleaner. This is a very environmentally friendly one. It's just a generic all-purpose cleaner. This will come useful for wiping of the outside of the microwave and for getting rid of some grease on the inside. Next, I've got some baking soda. If you have some really stubborn baked on food particles, this will help to get them out without scratching your microwave. Last but not least, we have some distilled white vinegar. This is going to be useful if your microwave has an odd smell to it. This will help get rid of that odor.
