You also want to think about the size of the pieces that you are cutting and generally it is a little bit easier, especially for beginners to work with large pieces of glass than with small ones. So if I was doing a design like this, you know I would, obviously you need more glass to make it larger than you would to make it smaller but it would be a lot easier for me to cut these pieces and prepare them and put them together at this size than if I tried to make that same design half that size. Because now, because if I was making it half that size I am working with pieces of glass that are much smaller and what that means is that there is a lot less tolerance in the irregularity of their shape and it is going to be a lot harder to get them to fit together. And so, that is not to say that it can’t be done but in general you know for a beginner it’s a lot, kind of easier to work on shapes and glass pieces that are larger rather than smaller. Of course it means you need more glass you know but these two kinds of designs have similar, they are very similar it would be a lot easier for me to cut these pieces and prepare them and successfully assemble them into a panel if I had a much larger design, same number of pieces but if I tried to do it a lot smaller, this takes a lot more skill. So when you are starting out you might want to think about doing larger pieces or patterns that have larger pieces in them, than really, really small pieces at the beginning.
