How to Buy a New Car: After-market Choices

BILL ZERVAKOS: Hi, l I'm Bill Z. CATHY DROZ: And I'm Cathy D with Two for the Road USA on behalf of Expert Village. BILL ZERVAKOS: Now, one of the things we want to talk about just because this is financial services, there's a lot more that goes on in there. This is where all the aftermarket things, the accessories they talk about, things like limbs protectors. You've got a big selection in the dealership about different kinds of grilles, if you want to change out your grille. And quite frankly, it makes no difference if it's a truck or a passenger car. It's a big thing right now. If you want to do it, it's fine. But that's a choice, something you have to think about before you go in there. A big part of the dealership's business today are wheels and tires. And you're going to see several different kind of displays on wheels and tires in the dealership. Also, they have different kinds of stereo systems. You see some of the grilles hang in there, by the way. They have different kinds of stereo systems but I think the biggest single thing is the wheel and tire and that's something you have to think long and hard about because you can do that on your own if you want. Another thing I'll talk about is paint protection. Well, the truth is most of these manufacturers come with a great paint job and you can put on the super wax job and call it good and do it for a whole lot less money. CATHY DROZ: In our next clip, before you go into finance and close the deal, Bill and I are going to go over that checklist where we summarize everything we've talked to you about up to this point.
