DR. SUSAN JEWELL: Hello. My name is Dr. Susan Jewell and on behalf of Expert Village, today I'm going to talk to you about how to treat fatigue. Now, fatigue can be caused by many different situations and sometimes it's psychological, psychosomatic, it could be environmental, lifestyle, and also some drugs and nutrition and diet, important contributing factors to a person being fatigued. And illnesses as well; certain illnesses and conditions can cause fatigue as one of those symptoms. Now, what's the definition of fatigue? Basically, fatigue is when a person comes and they complain of a total lack of energy where their body is--just have no energy to do anything and they feel it's accompanied by lethargy and amotivational characteristics. Amotivation means a person just is not motivated at all to do anything; he just wants to sit around the house, sleep all day, have no drive to do anything and apathy as well. These are some of the accompanying symptoms of fatigue.
