DR. SUSAN JEWELL: Hello. My name is Dr. Susan Jewell, and on behalf of Expert Village today, I'm going to talk to you about how to treat fatigue. Now, before I start, let me introduce myself. I'm a clinical research physician in the area of oncology, and that's cancer, and also a stem cell scientist in AIDS and HIV, and I've studied at the National Cancer Institute and also at UCLA School of Medicine. Now, in this series of clips, as I said, we're going to look at how to address the condition of fatigue. Now, we're going to talk about the definition of fatigue, the causes, which are many causes that can cause fatigue in a person, some of those general signs and symptoms that you will find, and a lot of the different ways to treat, treatment options, both conventional and alternative ways, to treat fatigue and how to prevent it, and how to reduce the symptoms of fatigue. So, we're going to talk about the definition of fatigue, and usually most people--fatigue affects many, many people, and usually, fatigue comes with lethargy, apathy, have low motivation. Also, one of the major causes is lack of exercise and terrible diets and lifestyle choices. So, these are some of the issues that we will address later on in this series of clips on how to treat fatigue.
