Mood & Consistency: Advanced Music Theory & Songwriting
Hey! I am Mark Black and welcome to expertvillage.com and we are going to be talking about advanced theory in song writing. So and then we can in our lyric we talked about things about how obvious we are, how directly are we communicating with our audience; talked about James Taylor, communicating a mood rather than an exact point and another thing we want to look at our lyric is are we consistent in our language.? Do we say you know I love you with a love of a thousand suns and you are one good looking babe, so that is inconsistent language? You know now we can use that as a point you know… kind of slapped me because he changed, but in general you will notice successful song writers and successful artists their songs are in the language. I’m talking about internally that song is consistent typically with itself. It is saying the same message. Then we want most songs have a consistent quantity, first person, I think this, second person you think that, third person they think that or he thinks that. So those are all things to consider about your lyric. I find that in teaching song writing that most people have the least problem with their lyric. Lyric seems to come out pretty even with some few corrections.
