Finish Sewing a Bound Buttonhole

Hi, I'm Candi Cane Cannel with Expert Village. In this clip I'm going to show you how to finish off your bound buttonhole. You want it to look like this as straight as possible. You can go ahead and press it to make sure it is really straight. We're just going to be stitching around the edges you basically want to stitch; I call it stitching the ditch. You're stitching in this tiny tiny little fold going all the way around and when you do this on a garment you'll obviously be using the same color thread so that it won't show. But for demonstration purposes, I'm going to use a little darker so you can see it. So you just go ahead and line up as close as you can you want to get in the little ditch and you're just going to go ahead and stitch. You just want to take your time with this cause you really do want to get it perfect and pull out your pins as you go because it's a lot easier to stitch when your pins are out of the fabric. I'm going to go ahead and sew one of the shorter sides and just pull down your wheel so that your needle is all the way into the corner. Pull out the last pin and you're going to go ahead and start the third side.
