How to End a Job Interview

I'm Don Varney of Varney Speaks and on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to talk about the interview process. When it's all said and done, if you're being all of the above. You're being courteous, you're being patient, you're trying to make it work, but you just get to a point that you absolutely understand this person is just being rude, you have to make a decision right then. Do I want to salvage this interview or not? Am I interested with being with a company that would have a person like this in this position? Now, this doesn't give you the right to explode and we'll say go crazy on that person, but rather what you have to do is make the decision. Just talking to you today, I'm sensing that we're not connecting very well and this isn't exactly what I think I would like to do, so I would like to thank you very much for your time, but I think personally, we probably could just end this interview today. Again, the hand goes out. I want to thank you for at least seeing me today. Do that only when you've made the decision that you don't want to salvage that interview. You really don't care at that point because you've made the decision intelligently that this was a mistake and it's just not working. Two things can happen. They can look at you and say, congratulations, that's what we were hoping you'd do, or the guy can just stand up, shake your hand, fluff you out the door and go next. You just don't know, but you walked out of that office your head held high. You walked out of there knowing that you did the right thing and feel good about it.
