Hi, my name is Lanie Evans and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm here to let you know how you can finish off your collages. Take a look at some of the ones that we've made so far today. The flower one that we made just recently is a great candidate for laminating. The laminating will actually seal the flower in place with the heat. So I would recommend that for anything using a flat floral design, it'll last longer. Something like this collage, is flat. Really you can use a spray fixative, it's just kind of like a clear gloss and it'll actually keep things in place a bit longer especially if you're going to have this in and out of a bag. So I would use something like this. Make sure when you're using a spray, fixative, that you go outside and you wear something to protect your face because the fumes can be dangerous to you. Another option is if you were to take a collage say like this one or this one and put it on a wood table top or something that is a bit more sturdy than paper, another choice would be to get a paintbrush and paint varnish over the top of that surface. So that's another way of keeping your collage and having it for a long time and keeping it safe from the elements. In other collages like this one probably doesn't need a fixative or anything like that. It's your choice, but I would recommend it if you were going to be using a collage say on a table top surface or something that you were going to hang on the wall, that you want to have for a long time.
