Hi, my name is Lanie Evans and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm here to show you how to make a garden collage. This is when it's winter and you can't get out to the garden and you really want to, make a collage. Or you can streamline your ideas, this is great for landscape design. Let's get started. Here I have just some paper and I have a whole stack of magazine clippings that I've collected over the years of different designs and colors, and flowers that I just enjoyed. So they don't do any good to me in a bag, so let's actually get them up and get them out and of course I can actually look at them. So what I've done here is I've taken a few examples of views or designs in a garden. So this is one thing I could use. Here I have an example of possibly a flower that I want to pursue having in my garden. I like the purple and the white, they go with the color scheme I'd like to use. Here is an interesting archway design, so I might like to include that in my garden some time at some point. But I am going to start by gluing down in the middle the overall design that I like. So I'm going to paste that, the glue on here. If you have as many clippings as I do, another idea would be to use a book. Just a blank journal and you can glue them in the journal so that you can flip through and make designs that way. So here I have the general view that I like and I'd like to pursue filling in my garden. Here I have some flowers that I found that I though were interesting and might look great in a garden. So I'm going to cut these out and glue this down over here. Another aspect to this kind of collage, you can do some research and actually name the plants. Make a plan from here is very helpful. Up here I'm going to use this space for color. So I've showed you how to get started on a landscape design collage. This is something that I plan to go ahead and finish, do things like sculptures or focal points, furniture, things like that, don't forget to include those. I'm going to hang this on my fridge so that I can get started thinking about my garden. Good luck with yours.
